A friend of mine told me about this group and I'm so glad he did.
At first, I thought, I'm already in another patreon, I've been a part of others before and they've been helpful. Not epic but helpful. I gained some knowledge and imparted some knowledge and enjoyed the connections I made through them but it wasn't a huge net positive.
This group, for lack of a better word, is better. People here are hungry for knowledge and actively seek it out. Stefan and Tim rise beautifully to the challenge of providing a comprehensive education that makes this industry accessible to everyone. They take the time to start from the basics and bridge any gaps you may have in your foundational knowledge.
They also get into the finite details that ultimately qualify everything within this industry from what makes a boa stand out to what makes the breeder stand out.

What stands out is how the material is structured and delivered in a practical way. Complex topics like polygenic influence and the link between genetics and physical characteristics are explained clearly and in a way that you can actually use. There is also a strong focus on selective breeding beyond colour and pattern, looking at the overall animal including head shape, body structure, and general form. That has shifted how I think about what I am trying to produce, not just which genes I am combining.
Another area that adds real value is the focus on building long term projects. It is not just about individual animals, but about thinking ahead, making intentional pairings, and understanding how to develop something over time that has both quality and direction. The business side of breeding and how to approach it with a plan is also an important part of that.
The community side has also been a real positive. Having access to like minded people to share ideas, ask questions, and support each other adds a lot of value, along with the live sessions where you can hear directly from experienced breeders.
If you are serious about boas and want to improve how you approach breeding, I would definitely recommend it.

Members of Boa University have the opportunity to become a Certified Boa Breeder.
This optional certification demonstrates a strong understanding of genetics, responsible breeding practices, and ethical standards.
To earn certification, members must:
Complete education modules 1–5 and all associated assignments
Agree to the Boa University Code of Ethics
Pass the written certification exam
